Highland Park
This Multi-Family Residence in Los Angeles had beautiful units with an ample supply of natural light, but features that did not allow light to really open up the space. The old units had dark, muted walls with color differing from the textured ceilings. The new redesign strategically incorporated clean, white walls to make each unit feel less enclosed, opening up the spaces to encourage interaction and a sense of comfort within each residence. Natural elements such as wooden shelves and flooring were further incorporated to bring warmth into the bright spaces. This redesign continues to the outside, where additions seamlessly update the facade to be chic, inviting and representative of the surrounding city of Los Angeles. The exterior aesthetic from the street side carries on through to the central courtyard which previously was unoccupied now not only encourages interaction between residents, but gives them the opportunity to relax outside when desired.
