Located in one of Southern California’s most iconic beaches, this Santa Monica Multi-Family Residence was redesigned to maximize existing floor plans for not only a sleek finish, but also a functional living space.
The existing conditions of this residence failed to maximize the existing spaces, separating each program with walls that not only made rooms feel tight, but also prevented natural light from entering each space. These gloomy, dated spaces failed to match the beautiful surrounding beach city and its charming community, and thus the redesign ensured a chic, sleek feel that not only matches the efficient and practical lifestyles of the community, but the relaxed moods that are bound to come in such a beautiful city.
Though each unit does not have access to the beautiful ocean views, all residence can soak up with view and the sunshine from its Rooftop Patio. Within each unit, natural light was prioritized in each space by taking advantage of the walls with outside exposure. The continuous floor plans and expansive windows welcome light to span the entire unit, and thus the outside landscaping was intentionally designed to make each view enjoyable and more intimate. Each unit opens to the spacious living areas, creating a homely intimate feel that is perfect to come home to at the end of a hectic day in the bustling city.
